Group of 3 pilots and 3 Yaks 50/52 aerobatic aircraft arriving to us from Lithuania.
Yak 52 and 50 are Soviet aerobatic training aircraft. Produced from 1975 until today.
The main difference between them is the number of seats. The Yak-50 is a one-man construction while in Yak-52 there is room for two people. As 50 is a construction with a tail wheel, while the 52 is equipped with a chassis with a nose wheel.
- the plane serving the Soviet National Aerobatic Team was usually scrapped after 50 hours of flight due to the very intense charges that exposed the airframe during these acrobatics.
- one of the ANBO pilots is the former prime minister and president of Lithuania – Rolandas Paksas.
- The power generated by their engines is more than 1’000 hp.
